Description

This webinar with focus on improving pain management in small animal patients. It will focus firstly on the importance of pain assessment in dogs and cats and how you can improve this in your practice. It will then cover more advanced analgesic techniques including local techniques, as well as covering what alternatives there are to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs for analgesia that can be dispensed with patients that are going home.

Leah Bradbury

Leah Bradbury, BVSc(hons), CertVA, MANZCVS, DipECVAA

Leah graduated from the University of Sydney in 1999 and following a stint in mixed practice in Queensland she headed to the UK in 2001. Following 2 years of locum work and travelling she commenced a residency in anaesthesia, analgesia and critical care at the University of Liverpool in the UK in 2003. In 2005 she was awarded the Royal college certificate in Veterinary Anaesthesia and in 2008 she became a diplomat of the European College of Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia. She returned to Australia in 2006 to work at the University of Melbourne veterinary Hospital where she provided a clinical anaesthesia service whilst teaching students, vets and nurses for six years. She is now working at Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga where her interests include teaching, welfare and pain management.
