A case based approach to vestibular syndrome in dogs and cats. For each case we will neuroanatomically localise the problem, detail the diagnostic investigations and discuss treatment options.

  • Become comfortable with the different components of the vestibular system
  • Learn how to differentiate between peripheral and central vestibular syndrome using your neurological exam.
  • Becoming familiar with the most common causes of vestibular syndrome.
  • The diagnostic approach to a case with vestibular signs and how to treat.

Alexander Forward, BVSc MSc MVetMed DipECVN MRCVS

After graduating from Liverpool University in 2011, Alex spent two years in a mixed animal practice in Cornwall. He then completed a rotating internship at the Royal Veterinary College and a subsequent residency in Neurology and Neurosurgery. He was awarded the Diploma of the European College of Veterinary Neurology in 2018 before joining Davies Veterinary Specialists where he currently is. His research interests include intracranial surgery and treatment of brain tumours in dogs.
