Supporting cats with chronic or life-limiting illness means balancing comfort, treatment burden and the activities that make life enjoyable. In this webinar, Kelly Eyre explores feline palliative care and quality-of-life assessment, including available tools, their limitations and how they can inform individual care plans.

The session also examines compassionate communication, caregiver burden and grief, alongside practical ways to support owners through difficult decisions and euthanasia. Suitable for veterinary nurses and veterinary surgeons, this webinar offers approaches to protecting feline welfare while supporting the bond between cats and their caregivers.

Kelly Eyre

Kelly qualified as a RVN in 2015 and has since gone on to complete the ISFM Diploma in Feline Nursing,
the ISFM Advanced Certificate in Feline Behaviour, and has recently achieved a Masters of Research in
Anthrozoology where she looked at the owners ability to recognise chronic dental pain in cats. Kelly was
Clinical Lead for the Royal Canin Feline Healthy Ageing Clinic at the University of Liverpool for 7 years,
and now has an Honorary Research Associate role for the project, which aims to extend the quality of life
in ageing cats through research and education. Kelly is a Senior Lecturer in Veterinary Nursing at
Wrexham University, and has a passion for ensuring student veterinary nurses go on to qualify and excel
within the veterinary profession.
