Pulse Check: Mastering Cardiac Diagnostics in Vet Nursing

Pulse Check: Mastering Cardiac Diagnostics in Vet Nursing
Pulse Check: Mastering Cardiac Diagnostics in Vet Nursing

Patients with cardiac disease will need diagnostic tests, either as part of a screening programme, to confirm a diagnosis, monitor disease progression or assess efficacy of treatment. This webinar looks at how the nurse can be prepared for whatever tests may be required, whilst producing reliable and repeatable results, and ensuring stress is minimised as much as possible. The more common tests will be covered, including auscultation, radiography, echocardiography, and blood sampling. As an often under utilised tool, special attention will be given to measuring blood pressure.

Learning outcomes:

  • Understand the purpose of diagnostic tests used in cardiac medicine
  • Apply best practice methods to achieve reliable and repeatable results
  • Perform or assist with diagnostic tests with confidence
