Caesarean sections are high-pressure procedures where anaesthetic decisions directly influence both maternal stability and neonatal viability. In this webinar, we will discuss the practical approach to managing these patients, from pre-operative stabilisation and patient assessment through to induction, maintenance, analgesia, monitoring, and recovery. Topics include drug selection with consideration for placental transfer, optimisation of cardiovascular and respiratory function, neonatal resuscitation, and effective communication within the surgical team. The session will focus on practical, evidence-based strategies that can be applied in everyday clinical practice to help improve outcomes for both the dam and her offspring.
