Marie-Christine Fischer

DipECVO FHEA MRCVS

My journey as an ophthalmologist began at Ludwig-Maximilians-University (LMU) in Munich, Germany. After graduating from LMU, I pursued a doctoral thesis on canine cataracts while working as an intern and clinician in the university’s surgical department. From 2015 to 2018, I completed the ECVO residency program at Dick White Referrals (DWR) in the UK, and in 2019, I became a European Veterinary Specialist in Ophthalmology.
My passion for teaching led me to my current role as a senior lecturer at the Royal Veterinary College (RVC) in London, where I attained a postgraduate degree in veterinary education. In addition to academia, I have expanded my clinical work to private practice in my hometown of Celle, in northern Germany.
