Crimson Crisis - Decoding Immune-Mediated Haemolytic Anaemia

Crimson Crisis - Decoding Immune-Mediated Haemolytic Anaemia
Crimson Crisis - Decoding Immune-Mediated Haemolytic Anaemia

Immune-mediated haemolytic anaemia (IMHA) is a condition not infrequently encountered in general practice. Making that initial diagnosis and having the evidence and confidence to appropriately immunosuppress is sometimes easier said than done.

This presentation will go through IMHA from presentation of a patient with regenerative anaemia, to how you can make a confident diagnosis. The current recommendations in terms of treatment options, when to start second line immunosuppressives, and when can these patients be discharged. It'll finish up with some novel treatment options and decision making as to how to wean the medications if all is going well.
