The automatic cell blood count (CBC) should be always performed together with the microscopic blood smear evaluation. The combined interpretation of the hematological laboratory data results with the morphological appearance of cells can help to improve the diagnostic skills and shorten the differential list. This webinar is designed to provide insights about common morphological changes of erythrocytes, leucocytes and platelets combined with interpretation of cell blood count changes; e.g. anaemia, inflammatory leuogram, stress leucogram, thrombocytosis and thrombocytopenia.

Gabriele Rossi

Dr Gabriele Rossi DVM, PhD, Diplomate ECVCP

Gabriele Rossi is a Senior Lecturer in Veterinary Clinical Pathology at Murdoch University in Perth (Western Australia). Gabriele graduated in Italy at University of Milan. After completion a PhD focused on investigation of new diagnostic biomarkers in different veterinary species, he passed the European College of Veterinary Clinical Pathology board. Gabriele is teaching different areas of veterinary clinical pathology to undergraduate veterinary students and he is actively involved in continuing education for veterinarians’ nurses and veterinarians. Gabriele’s research interests include anemia, sepsis and renal diseases.
