Karla graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2011 and spent a year in equine practice in Yorkshire.  Following this, she embarked on a three-year anaesthesia and analgesia residency at the University of Edinburgh in 2011.  She has worked in a private referral hospital in the UK since 2015.
