Meine Laufbahn zur Tierärztin begann 1994 mit dem Studium an der Veterinärmedizinischen Universität Wien. Im Jahr 2000 begann ich an der Augenstation der Universität zu arbeiten, wo im Rahmen meiner Dissertation mit dem Thema "Nachweis von FHV-1-DNA bei Augenerkrankungen der Katze mit Hilfe der PCR" das Interesse für die Augenheilkunde erwachte.
2002 startete ich das 3-jährige Residency-Programm, das ich mit der Prüfung zum Augenfachtierarzt (Diplomate ECVO = European College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists) erfolgreich abschließen konnte.
Von 2007 bis 2021 Tätikeiten als Konsiliararzt für Ophthalmologie in verschiedenen Kliniken/Tierarztpraxen im Raum Wien.
2021 erfolgte die Eröffnung des TAZ (Tierärztliches AugenZentrum) im Süden von Wien in Zusammenarbeit mit Dr. Marion Kerschbaumer.

Sally graduated with first class honours from The University of Sydney in 2007. After 2 years in small animal practice in Canberra, Sally commenced work in feline only practice at The Cat Clinic in Prahran (Melbourne) in 2010, where she remained for 10 years, become a partner and director in this busy practice and seeing a high volume of both first opinion and referral cases. Sally attained her membership qualification in Feline Medicine with the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in 2012 and went on to become an examiner for the ANZCVS in 2016, 2017 and 2018.
Sally has now turned her attention to research, commencing a full-time masters under the supervision of Professor Jacqueline Norris, Associate Professor Merran Govendir and Associate Professor Mary Thompson at the Sydney School of Veterinary Science, The University of Sydney since late 2020. Sally is currently investigating novel antiviral therapeutics for Feline Infectious Peritonitis and is currently conducting clinical trials open for national recruitment. She continues to practice 2 days per week as a feline only clinician at Gordon Veterinary Hospital, as well being a feline medicine distance education course tutor for the Centre for Veterinary Education and an undergraduate tutor for Doctor of Veterinary Medicine students at The University of Sydney.

Dr. Sally J Foote is owner and head veterinarian of Okaw Veterinary Clinic, Tuscola il. She has practiced in general medicine for over 30 years. After graduating from the University of Illinois in 1984, Dr. Foote pursued a career in general medicine while taking expanded education in small animal behavior. Certifications include Low Stress Handling Silver Certified, Fear Free professional, and Animal Behavior Consultant by the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants. Dr Foote has completed coursework at Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine in Veterinary Behavior as well as over 100 hours of Veterinary Behavior Continuing Education. Dr Foote is also currently the President of the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior and the Executive Director of CattleDog Publishing, the legacy of Dr Sophia YIn.

Dr Sally Nixon graduated with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science from the University of Melbourne in 2000 and developed an interest in behavioural medicine in 2009. She became a Member of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists (ANZCVS) Veterinary Behaviour Chapter by examination in 2013 and she is currently president of the chapter. Sally started her Residency in veterinary behavioural medicine with both the ANZCVS and the American College of Veterinary Behaviorists in early 2019 under the mentorship of Dr Kersti Seksel and Dr Jacqui Ley.
As well as owning her own rural-based business consulting in veterinary behavioural medicine, Sally is a co-tutor for the CVE Veterinary Behavioural Medicine course, she teaches Small Animal Behaviour to veterinary nurses and she is a consultant with the behaviour folder for the Veterinary Information Network (VIN). She has been a committee member of the Australian Veterinary Association’s Behaviour Interest Group (AVBIG) committee since 2014 and currently represents AVBIG on the Policy Advisory Council of the Australian Veterinary Association.

Sally Turner qualified from the University of Cambridge in 1991. She spent 2 years in small animal practice before taking up a Residency in Comparative Ophthalmology as GDBA Fellow at the Animal Health Trust, Newmarket. She gained her Certificate in Ophthalmology in 1994 and then the Diploma in 1997. She is an RCVS Recognised Specialist in Veterinary Ophthalmology and currently works in London in private referral practice. In addition to providing a full ophthalmology referral service for client’s pets she is also a member of the BVA/KC/ISDS Eye Testing Panel which provides a screening service for inherited ocular disease in dogs prior to breeding. She has been on the RCVS Ophthalmology Board and has acted as an RCVS Examiner for both Certificate and Diploma examinations as well as examiner for the European School of Veterinary Postgraduate Studies (ESVPS) and for the BSAVA modular Certificate in Ophthalmology. Sally regularly lectures to veterinary surgeons and nurses, both in the UK and abroad. She is the author of two books on veterinary ophthalmology. She is interested in all aspects of clinical ophthalmology, especially surgical conditions and inherited ophthalmic disease.

Sam graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1996 and spent a brief stint in practice before returning to his alma mater to complete an internship.
This was followed by a 3 year residency in neurology at the University of Glasgow, where he also completed a Phd.
From Glasgow he moved to the United states to take up a faculty position as Assisitant Professor and head of Neurology Service at the University of Pennsylvania’s Vet School in Philadelphia before finally returning to Australia to start up the neurology and neurosurgery division at Melbourne University, which now employs a second neurologist and two residents.
Sam is a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Neurology and member of its executive committee. He has active clinical research in the fields of epilepsy, deep brain stimulation, degenerative myelopathy and canine brain tumours.

Sam holds the European Diploma in Equine Dentistry – the highest possible level of qualification in the subject. Sam is one of a very small number of equine vets who have also taken the joint BEVA / BAEDT equine dental technicians exam.
Indeed uniquely Sam obtained his BAEDT qualification after studying in both the UK and the USA before he started at Vet school.
Sam is an RCVS recognised advanced practitioner in both equine dentistry and equine practice. Sam has lectured on equine dentistry and acted as an examiner for the BEVA/BAEDT examinations. He has been co author of a number of published papers in various journals on equine dentistry. He qualified as a vet in 2007 and has gained experience in a mixed practice in Fife Scotland.
Outside of work Sam is an enthusiastic rugby player and competes at show jumping. Sam was also the first Vet to obtain the RCVS Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice – Equine Dentistry.
Sam loves teaching people about equine dentistry – so when His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales visited the clinic he took the opportunity to demonstrate how to perform a thorough dental examination.

Samantha graduated from the University of QLD in 2011 with honours. She then went on to practice in small animal clinics in the north shore of Sydney for 2 years before moving to Darwin where working afterhours awakened her love of emergency and critical care. After moving back to Brisbane in 2015 she worked in afterhours clinics before starting at Brisbane Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care in mid 2015. Since then Samantha has attained her memberships in Emergency and Critical Care and has found a true passion in caring for our Emergency patients. Samantha’s areas of special interest include trauma patients and toxicology.

She currently works in clinical referral practice in the UK and is the Veterinary Consultant to the International Society of Feline Medicine. She writes and lectures on feline medicine topics internationally and is on the editorial board for the Journal of Feline Medicine and Surgery. She recently became a Fellow of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.

After completing a Bachelor of Animal Science, Samara decided to pursue her dreams of becoming a veterinary nurse and has been working in the industry for the past 19 years. She has worked in various general practices and emergency centres in both Australia and the UK. For 10 years she worked as a senior nurse in the emergency and critical care service at the University of Melbourne and during this time, she became a specialist in ECC through AVECCTN. Currently, she works for Melbourne Polytechnic lecturing to students completing a Bachelor of Veterinary Nursing degree which runs in partnership with Latrobe University. She has clinical roles with Southpaws Moorabbin and VRH (Dandenong) and is currently a director for the VNCA board and a committee member for the VNCA Victorian division. She owns two silly fur babies- Harry the Ginger cat and Archie the Cavoodle.
