Momoko is from Japan and moved to Brisbane in 2006. She completed a Bachelor of Veterinary Technology at the University of Queensland in 2011. She has worked in general practice before working at Brisbane Veterinary Specialist Centre. She started as a full-time rotating nurse at BVSC in 2011, then became BVSC's Primary Chemotherapy Nurse in 2013. Momoko also volunteered at the RSPCA Wildlife Hospital every Saturday for one year as well as taking casual shits at the BVECCS Emergency Centre.
In June 2018, Momoko passed the exam to become a Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS) in Oncology accredited by the Academy of Internal Medicine Veterinary Technicians in the US. She is currently the first and the only VTS (Oncology) in Australia. Her daily goal is to give our patients the best attentions and care, and also to be the better communication bridge between owners and veterinarians to achieve a good quality of life in cancer patients. Her interest is not only limited to Oncology but also Internal Medicine and Feline Behaviour and Handling.
Momoko grew up with 4-6 cats. She admits being a crazy cat lady who also loves dogs. She enjoys yoga, indoor soccer and occasional hiking.

Dr Muriel Sacks has graduated in veterinary medicine from the University of Zurich in Switzerland in 2014. During her Master in Veterinary Science, she published a research paper about the comparison of medetomidine and dexmedetomidine in horses undergoing general anaesthesia. At the same time, she was able to expand her knowledge and practical experience in large animal anaesthesia and pain management as an assistant at the equine department of the university hospital of Zurich. As a part of this work, she encountered many difficulties in regards to the ventilation of large animals during general anaesthesia and started to study the physiology of the respiratory system more profoundly. In 2016, Dr Sacks moved to Perth WA and worked in clinical teaching and research positions at The Animal Hospital Murdoch and The University of Western Australia, whilst preparing herself in several different surroundings to sit the final clinical exams of the Australian National Veterinary Exam. After having passed the latter, she has now started a speciality trainee position in equine medicine and surgery at The Animal Hospital Murdoch in Perth.

Nach abgeschlossenem Veterinärstudium an der Vetsuisse Fakultät in Zürich habe ich zwei Jahre lang auf der Abteilung für Pferdeanästhesie und - analgesie am Tierspital der Universität Zürich gearbeitet und im Juni 2016 meine Doktorarbeit über (Dex)medetomidine - Anästhesie beim Pferd eingereicht. Kurz darauf bin ich nach Westaustralien gezogen, wo ich an den Universitäten UWA und Murdoch in den Bereichen Wissenschaft und Lehre im Feld der Anästhesie tätig war. In dieser Zeit habe ich auch bei
zahlreichen Tierschutzprojekten mitgearbeitet, in Australien sowie auch in Asien und Afrika.
Zwischen 2018 und 2022 habe ich ein Internship und Residency in Pferdemedizin an der Universität Murdoch absolviert, und Anfang 2023 den Titel des amerikanischen college für interne Medizin erhalten. Nun bin ich zurück in Europa und arbeite momentan in einer Pferdeklinik in Oberbayern - und freue ich auf den ersten (heissen) Sommer zurück auf dem Heimatkontinent!

Nadine Apteker is a 2012 graduate of the veterinary medicine programme at LMU Munich. After finishing her studies she obtained a position as assistant at the Division for Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Andrology at the Centre for Artificial Insemination and Embryo Transfer at Vetmeduni Vienna.
After one year of rotating clinical work in the subfield of reproductive medicine in small animals, equine and farm animals, she was accepted into a PhD programme as well as a residency programme by the European College of Animal Reproduction. In 2016 she completed successfully both her PhD and residency and attained her Diploma as veterinary specialist in animal reproduction.
Nadine moved to South Africa in 2017 where she started working for the Cape Animal Fertility Clinic, focusing on equine and canine reproduction. She is passionate about sharing and exchanging knowledge and is actively involved with local welfare organizations and volunteer sterilization programmes.

Dr. Nadine Blum verstärkt bereits seit 2016 das Team der Tierklinik Lüsche und ist schwerpunktmäßig in der Orthopädie, Rehabilitation und Manualtherapie aufgestellt. Als Fachtierärztin für Pferde und Fachtierärztin für Chiropraktik (A) betreut sie die ambulanten und stationären Patienten der Klinik und leitet als Oberärztin der Fachzweig der Orthopädie und Rehabilitationsmedizin organisatorisch und inhaltlich.
Dr. Nadine Blum schloss ihr Studium der Veterinärmedizin an der Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen im Jahr 2000 ab und war mehrere Jahre in verschiedenen Pferdekliniken im In- und Ausland tätig.
Aufgrund Ihres Interessensschwerpunktes der Orthopädie und Biomechanik des Pferdes absolvierte sie bereits 2007 ihre Zusatzausbildung zur Pferdeosteotherapeutin und Pferdephysiotherapeutin am Deutschen Institut für Pferdeosteopathie (DIPO) in Dülmen und ergänzte diese Weiterbildung 2009 durch die chiropraktische Ausbildung an der IAVC (International Academy of Veterinary Chiropractic) sowie die Prüfung der IVCA (International Veterinary Chiropractic Association).
Nachdem Frau Dr. Blum über mehr als ein Jahrzehnt als Dozentin der IAVC sowie an mehreren Universitäten tätig war, gründete sie gemeinsam mit Frau Dr. Julia Rohrbach eine eigene Akademie für tierärztliche Weiterbildung – Akademie Dres. Blum&Rohrbach Veterinäre PartGmbB (ABnR).
Dr. Nadine Blum hält regelmäßig Vorträge auf nationalen und internationalen Veterinärkongressen und ist auch weiterhin sehr engagiert in verschiedenen nationalen und internationalen Forschungs- und Weiterbildungsvereinigungen, unter anderem der ´International Task Force on Laterality in Sports Horses´, der ´International Equine Cervical Working Group´, der ´International Manual Therapy Group´ der ´Equine Congenital Cervico Thoracal Anatomical Variation Group´ sowie der ´Equine Gait Analysis Society´.

Dr Hamilton helps veterinary professionals get on top of stress and conflict to avoid burnout and suicide, and also works with practice managers and owners to increase wellbeing, productivity, and retention in the workplace.
After failing every one of her exams at high school she decided to join the workforce at the age of 15. While she has always been passionate about animals, she learnt very early on that she was way too queasy to become a veterinarian - plus she didn't think it would be possible because of her failure at high school. She knew there was 'something' about euthanaising pets that would be very distressing for veterinary professionals, and in a strange twist of fate, found herself researching this indepth at doctoral level....
Way back in 1996 when she was searching for her 'calling' and had decided to apply to study psychology at university, one of her cousins tragically killed himself. It was at that moment she knew she wanted to work with people who were suicidal, however, she still had that yearning to be involved with the veterinary industry. A chance encounter with a locum veterinarian at her local veterinary practice around 2006 was a pivotal moment – when the veterinarian mentioned the high suicide rate within the veterinary profession. That was all the motivation Dr Hamilton needed to get proactive and do something about it!
Since then Dr Hamilton has successfully completed doctoral research into veterinarian wellbeing, and is the proud founder of the "Love Your Pet Love Your Vet" charity, in which she partnered with Royal Canin to raise awareness about the issues within the veterinary industry. She is also completing PhD studies to further research stress, burnout, and suicide within the veterinary profession. Dr Hamilton works tirelessly to advocate for veterinary wellbeing and the paradigm shift she believes is needed in order to facilitate positive change within the profession.
Dr Hamilton is the author of “Coping with Stress and Burnout as a Veterinarian”, published by Australian Academic Press and released in February 2019.

Ihr Hauptinteresse gilt der Anwendung wissenschaftlicher Prinzipien in der Verhaltensmedizin, dem Tiertraining, der Erkennung von Gesundheits- und Verhaltensinteraktionen und der Stärkung der interdisziplinären Arbeit zwischen den Bereichen Tierkognition, Tierschutzwissenschaften und Verhaltensmedizin.

After graduating from the veterinary school of the university of Bern in 1996, Nadja completed a doctoral thesis and trained as a specialist for small animals (FVH) before completing a residency in Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care. She is an ACVECC Diplomate since 2004 and ECVECC founding Diplomate since 2014.
From 2005-2010 she was senior clinician in ECC medicine and helped developed the emergency and ICU service at the Small Animal Hospital of the Vetsuisse Faculty of Bern and from 2013-2020 she was senior clinician and the head of the Small Animal Intensive Care Unit at the Small Animal Hospital of the Vetsuisse Faculty of Zürich.
In 2021, Nadja left the university setting to concentrate on her own company VET ECC CE (Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Consulting & Education).

Dr. Nadja Wunderlin studierte Tiermedizin an der Justus-Liebig-Universität (JLU) in Gießen (1999-2005). Anschließend promovierte sie unter Prof. M. Kramer (2005-2009), absolvierte 2006-2007 ein rotierendes Internship (Innere Medizin und Kleintierchirurgie) in der Klinik für Kleintiere der JLU Gießen und war dort bis 2009 als Assistenzärztin (Schwerpunkt Weichteilchirurgie) und wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin tätig. Ihre Residency ECVS absolvierte sie von 2009-2012. Seit 2012 ist sie Fachtierärztin für Chirurgie der Klein- und Heimtiere. Im Anschluss an Ihre Prüfung zum Dipl. ECVS (2013) arbeitete Sie als Oberärztin in der orthopädischen Abteilung der Klinik für Kleintiere der JLU Giessen und von Januar 2014 bis November 2015 als chirurgische Oberärztin in der Tierklinik Hollabrunn. Aktuell ist sie im Tiergesundheitszentrum Grußendorf als Chirurgin tätig. Ihre Arbeitsschwerpunkte sind: Weichteilchirurgie, Orthopädie und Neurochirurgie.
