Norman Johnston is a graduate of the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, University of Edinburgh. He is clinical director of DentalVets - a referral only dental and oral surgical practice near Edinburgh in Scotland. Before embarking on a specialist career, he spent 21 years in general practice in Edinburgh. His qualifications are unique as he is a current diplomate of both the American and European Veterinary Dental Colleges, a fellow of the Academy of Veterinary Dentistry and has been a registered RCVS Specialist in Veterinary Dentistry since 2002. He is a past president of both the European Veterinary Dental College, the British Veterinary Dental Association and a past board member of many veterinary dental organisations world-wide. He is also a past chairman and director of VET Trust, an educational veterinary charity based in Scotland. In 1997 he received the Simon Award from the British Small Animal Veterinary Association for outstanding contributions in the field of veterinary surgery and was made a Fellow of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2016 for meritorious contributions to clinical practice.

Oliver Gross approbierte 2003 als an der Veterinärmedizinischen Universität Giessen.
Bis 2008 war er als wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter an der Neurologischen Klinik in Giessen und der Kerckhoff Klinik in Bad Nauheim beschäftigt. Von 2009 bis 2010 arbeitete er als Assistenztierarzt in der Gemischtpraxis Dr. Luginbühl in Düdingen/Schweiz. Danach zog es ihn zurück nach Deutschland, um in der Kleintierklinik an Stadtwald in Frankfurt zu arbeiten (2010 bis 2015), hier bereits mit dem Schwerpunkt Zahnheilunde. Anfang des Jahres 2016 wechselte er an die multidisziplinäre Kleintierklinik in Hofheim. Nach einer allgemeinen Rotation begann er seine spezialisierte Weiterbildung in allen Bereichen der routinemäßigen und fortgeschrittenen zahnärztlichen Versorgung unter der Leitung von Dr. Andrea Rupp, Abteilungsleiterin für Zahnmedizin der Kleintierklinik Hofheim.
Am 28.09.2022 legte er erfolgreich die Prüfung für die Zusatzbezeichnung „Zahnheilkunde beim Klein- und Heimtier“ ab.

I started my career 10 years as a wildlife and shelter nurse before moving into specialty as a surgery nurse at Brisbane Veterinary Specialist Centre 5 years ago. I have been Primary Surgery Nurse at BVSC for the last 2 years and love all things anesthesia but have a keen interest in cat anesthesia and neurosurgery, especially brains. I have nursed many a spinal patient through surgery and recovery and love watching their progress. When I am not at work, I am at the beach with my moodle Riley or on the couch with my DSH Lucy, Norwegian Forest Cat Lilly and Bourkes parrot Frenchie geeking out over Batman comics and anesthesia webinars.

Pat was a pioneer in pet bird medicine, being the second person in Australia to become a registered specialist in the field. She established her clinic, Bird Vet Melbourne in 1981, sold it in 2015 and now works with fellow bird vet Dr Matt Gosbell at Greencross Vets, Springvale. She has a fascination with connections between birds, animals, nature and people and how these have influenced ‘big history’. She has kept birds most of her life, owns ‘Harewood’ a remarkable heritage property and, along with her vet degree, holds a PhD in Australian evolutionary history.

Patricia Hagenbucher ist Tierärztin und Diplombiologin. Sie hat in Mainz, Straßburg (F), Basel (CH) und Kaiserslautern Biologie und Biotechnologie studiert und im Jahr 2011 mit dem Diplom abgeschlossen. Das Studium der Tiermedizin hat sie in Gießen und Knoxville, TN (USA) absolviert und 2017 die tierärztliche Approbation erhalten. Bereits während des Studiums war Frau Hagenbucher als Studentenbotschafterin für die Firma ROYAL CANIN tätig und hat hier erste Erfahrungen in der Kleintierdiätetik und Ernährungsberatung gesammelt. Von 2017 bis 2022 folgten Stationen in der Kleintierpraxis, woraufhin sie sich seit 2022 als Scientific Trainer ausschließlich der klinischen Diätetik von Katzen und Hunden bei ROYAL CANIN widmet.

Patrik Zanolari studierte Veterinärmedizin an der Universität in Bern. Er arbeitete zuerst in einer Nutztierpraxis und war anschließend Assistenztierarzt an der Nutztierklinik der Universität Bern, wo er auch doktorierte (Prokinetic effects of erythromycin on myoelectric activity of the spiral colon of dairy cows).
Er absolvierte ein Residency-Programm an der Wiederkäuerklinik in Bern und qualifizierte sich als Spezialist für Buiatrik (Fachtierarzt FVH für Wiederkäuer seit 2007 sowie Diplomate des European College of Bovine Health Management seit 2009). Es erfolgten weitere Spezialisierungen auf dem Gebiet der Kleinwiederkäuer- sowie der Neuweltkamelidenmedizin mit anschliessender Habilitation im Fach Wiederkäuermedizin (Infectious diseases in South American camelids - Impact on disease control in domestic ruminants and on public health in Switzerland).
Von 2007 bis 2020 arbeitete er in Teilzeit beim Beratungs- und Gesundheitsdienst für Kleinwiederkäuer und ist seit 2011 als Dozent und stellvertretender Leiter der stationären Wiederkäuerklinik angestellt.
Seine Forschungsschwerpunkte liegen im Bereich der Kleinwiederkäuer- und Neuweltkamelidenmedizin. Er ist auch in der Fort- und Weiterbildung für Tierhaltende und Züchter/-innen sowie für Tierärzt/-innen aktiv.

Paul graduated from Liverpool University, and after a short time in mixed practice, moved to a small animal hospital in Manchester. He has worked in Manchester since then, and is currently a referral clinician at Vets Now Referrals where he sees both soft tissue and orthopaedic cases.
Paul is widely involved in providing CPD to vets and nurses, both in the UK and internationally, and is co-author of the textbook ‘Practical Emergency and Critical Care Nursing’. Pauls clinical interests include trauma patients and emergency surgery.

I practiced with a multi-speciality vet hospital group in Detroit, Michigan for several years before moving to Australia to continue my professional endeavour’s and live in one of my favourite countries on earth. I have a clinical focus on shock stabilisation & management of electrolyte disturbances. Prof Paul Mills graduated from the School of Veterinary Science at the University of Queensland in 1987 and has worked in mixed practice and as an emergency clinician. His PhD investigated the effects of inflammation of the kinetics of drugs administered to racing animals before working as a Scientific Office at the Animal Health Trust in England, pioneering work on the effects of nitric oxide on equine pulmonary function and EIPH. Prof Mills has also worked as a Regulatory Veterinary Officer in Queensland Racing, a National Health & Medical Research Council Senior Research Officer at the Princess Alexandria Hospital. He attained membership of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Science in Veterinary Pharmacology and is currently a Professor of Veterinary Pharmacology at the School of Veterinary Science at The University of Queensland. Prof Mills consults for various organizations, including the Australian Crime Commission and Australian Racing authorities, with over 130 peer-reviewed scientific papers to date, with a focus on transdermal drug delivery and clinical pharmacology. He is a Scientific Editor for The Veterinary Journal and the Australasian Editor for Journal of Veterinary Pharmacology and Therapeutics.

Penny graduated from the University of Qld in 1986 and has practiced across Sydney in areas as diverse as Guildford, Double Bay, Waverley, Stanmore, Five Dock, Rose Bay and Denistone. Penny was admitted to the New Zealand and Australian College of Veterinary Scientists by examination in Canine Medicine in 1991 and has a special interest in veterinary nutrition. She was the Secretary of the AVA Sydney Metropolitan Practitioners Branch for twelve years and currently works as a full time senior nutritional consultant for Hills Pet Nutrition as well as a part time clinical veterinarian. Penny grew up on acreage surrounded by animals and has always maintained a multicat household. Penny and Paul have a beautiful 13 year old daughter Olivia and a young and boistrous female black and white domestic cat Clarice.
