Dr. Cushing graduated with his DVM equivalent degree from Liverpool University, England, in 2007. During veterinary school, he participated in research projects in Kruger National Park, South Africa, in free ranging buffalo and lions. Dr. Cushing then obtained a job as clinical veterinarian at Marwell Wildlife, a primarily hoofstock zoo, in the UK where he worked for 8 months before being offered a job at the University of Tennessee as a clinical instructor in zoological medicine, which was too good an opportunity to turn down!
