Jessie qualified in 2016 as an RVN and has always had a keen interest in animal rescue and welfare. Jessie also has a niche speciality in neonatal nursing and hand rears for a range of animal charities in the UK. In 2022, Jessie founded "Auntie Jessie's Animal Care" and works with pet owners, veterinary practices and educational organisations to improve the standard of care for neonatal patients.

Jessica graduated from the University of University in 2004 with first class honours, moving to a mixed general practice in east Victoria, and then small animal practice in Tasmania. During her time in general practice, she completed the Post Graduate Foundation in Oncology, a Masters in Veterinary Studies from Murdoch University and successfully gained Membership to the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in Small Animal Internal Medicine (including Oncology) by examination. Jess completed her residency (specialist training) in medical oncology in September 2014 and successfully passed Fellowship examinations in 2018. She has presented at the ANZCVS in 2013 and 2019, as well as had an abstract accepted for presentation at the Veterinary Cancer Society meeting in 2019. Jess also holds the record for being the first veterinarian to perform electrochemotherapy on a horse in Australia! Outside of work Jess spends her time with her two girls, a naughty but adorable Labrador and two spoilt cats (and one very understanding husband!).

Jessica is the Head Nurse of Surgery and is a Theatre Coordinator at Lort Smith, Melbourne’s Animal Hospital.
Jessica worked in specialty practice for 12 of her 19 years as a veterinary nurse. Prior to referral nursing Jess worked overseas in Vancouver for 12 months as a Veterinary Technician. Before Canada Jess worked at a General Practice hospital in Melbourne for almost 4 years.
Jess completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing through Box Hill Institute of TAFE and has since become AVNAT (Australian Vet Nurse and Technician) registered as well as an AVN (Accredited Veterinary Nurse).
Jessica became a volunteer for the VNCA (Veterinary Nurses Council of Australia) in 2021 and has since become a VNCA Board Member and Vice Chair of the Victorian Division. Jess underwent additional leadership training through the veterinary specific Lincoln Institute, which she is very passionate about.
In 2023, Jess attained her Certificate IV in Training & Assessment, which has allowed her to train Certificate IV Veterinary Nurse students at Melbourne Polytechnic.
Jess presented at the National Scientific Conference in Kuala Lumpur in 2023, which was a career highlight. Jess has since presented at VetWorks and the Tasmanian AVA Conference. Jessica loves encouraging veterinary nurse education and is eager to promote the same high standard worldwide within our profession.
Jess recently lost her almost 14-year-old Boston Terrier, Maple, who was a well-loved staff member across several veterinary hospitals. She is now mum to a ridiculous adopted one-eyed French Bulldog named Frida.
Jess enjoys going to the Australian Open each year and watching the West Coast Eagles play in Melbourne. Jessica lives a cruelty-free lifestyle and promotes kindness to animals.

Jessika-M. Cavalleri studierte an der Freien Universität Berlin bis 2000 Veterinärmedizin. Ihr Promotionsstudium führte sie an die Vetsuissefakultät der Universität Zürich, wo sie auch die Ausbildung in der Inneren Medizin des Pferdes im Rahmen eines vom European College of Equine Internal Medicine (ECEIM) anerkannten Residency absolvierte. Von 2005 bis 2017 arbeitete sie als wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin an der Klinik für Pferde der Stiftung Tierärztliche Hochschule Hannover. In dieser Zeit habilitierte sie sich auf dem Gebiet der Inneren Medizin des Pferdes zum Thema der Immuntherapie des equinen malignen Melanoms. Seit September 2017 ist Jessika-M. Cavalleri Leiterin der klinischen Abteilung für Interne Medizin der Universitätsklinik für Pferde an der Veterinärmedizinischen Universität Wien.

Jo is a Registered and Accredited Veterinary Nurse who has been working in the profession for over 20 years and is as trainer and assessor for Animal Industries Resource Centre and also works in clinical practice in Adelaide, South Australia. She enjoys both the challenges of working in practice especially in emergency, medical and surgical nursing and is also very passionate about the training of veterinary nurses in the knowledge and skills required to ensure the highest levels of veterinary care is provided in practice. Jo is an active member of the Veterinary Nurses Council of Australia (VNCA) having previously sat on the board of directors as a Past President and currently is a member of the CPD committee, editorial committee reviewing the Australian Veterinary Nurses Journal (AVNJ) and the Australian Veterinary Nurses and Technicians Registration Scheme (AVNAT) Regulatory Council chair. She has a beautiful Golden Retriever and cheeky Domestic Kitten at home along with her human family.

Joanna White graduated from the University of Sydney and spent 6 years in general practice prior to completing a PhD in feline kidney disease. She completed a residency in small animal internal medicine at Massey University and is a Diplomate of the American College Veterinary Internal Medicine and a member of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists (feline).
Joanna is a registered small animal medical specialist, and, in addition, has completed a Masters in Veterinary Epidemiology researching asymptomatic bacterial urinary tract infections in cats.
Outside of her clinical workload, Joanna is a reviewer for several professional journals including the Journal of Veterinary Internal Medicine, the Journal of Feline Medicine and Surgery and the Journal of Veterinary Clinical Science. Joanna is also an Examiner at Fellowship (specialist) level for the feline and internal medicine chapters of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists.
Joanna has a strong interest in research and has been the lead author of a number of published research studies into feline kidney diseases and urinary tract infections.

Dr Joanne Sheen graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 2004. She holds a Certificate in Zoological Medicine from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons in the UK, and in 2017, became a Diplomate in the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in Exotic Companion Mammal Practice. She is currently only one of two veterinarians in Australia that hold this qualification.
Jo has been involved in exotic animal medicine in various capacities since 2005 both in Australia and internationally, ranging from a first opinion and referral exotic animal veterinarian in the private sector, in industry, and as an expert witness for a number of organizations. She has presented and written on various exotic animal topics both within Australia and internationally. Jo’s professional interests are in hepatic and gastrointestinal diseases of rabbits and mycobacteriosis in exotic animals. She is currently the senior associate exotic animal veterinarian at Sydney Exotic and Rabbit Vets, Australia.

Joe graduated from the Royal Veterinary College (RVC) in 2009 and spent the next 2 years in general practice in Derbyshire. He then returned to the RVC to complete a rotating internship at the Queen Mother Hospital for Animals (QMHA), followed by a residency in Veterinary Neurology and Neurosurgery. Following completion of his residency and attainment of a Masters in Veterinary Medicine (MVetMed), Joe successfully sat the examination for the Diploma of the European College of Veterinary Neurology (ECVN) in 2015. Following this he stayed at the RVC as staff clinician, and in 2019 was appointed as a Senior Lecturer in Veterinary Neurology and Neurosurgery. Joe is a European and RCVS Recognised Specialist in Veterinary Neurology. Joe is interested in all aspects of veterinary neurology and neurosurgery, although he is particularly interested in the management of acute spinal cord injury and the development of advanced neurosurgical techniques such as transsphenoidal hypophysectomy. Joe is currently the lead surgeon of RVC’s hypophysectomy clinic and enjoys the challenge of managing these complex cases alongside colleagues from the Internal Medicine and Emergency and Critical Care services.

Dr John Angles graduated in 1988 with honours from the University of Sydney and worked for five years in small animal practice in Canberra, before completing a small animal medicine residency at the University of California at Davis. John obtained advanced training in veterinary immunology and genetics while at the University of California. He was awarded a PhD in Comparative Pathology in 2005 by the University of California at Davis, investigating causes for autoimmunity in dogs. John then spent four years as lecturer in Small Animal Medicine at University College Dublin prior to joining the Animal Referral Hospital in 2003, working in an advanced emergency and referral critical care facility. John was keynote speaker for the 2017 Greencross Vets Renal Symposiums in Sydney, Melbourne, Townsville and the Gold Coast. John is a Diplomate of both the American and European Colleges of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM and ECVIM).
