Aufgewachsen in einer Familie, die immer Tiere hatte, habe ich nach Abitur und Wehrpflicht wie selbstverständlich das Studium der Veterinärmedizin gewählt. Nach dem Studium in Gießen und dem Erlangen der Approbation absolvierte ich zunächst ein einjähriges Internship bei Cotts Farm Equine Hospital in Wales, GB. Danach zog es mich zur Doktorarbeit an das Tierspital nach Zürich in der Schweiz. Es folgten die Standard Large Animal Residency des ECVS in Hannover mit erfolgreichem Abschluss des ECVS Board Examens in 2016, die Anerkennung des Fachtierarzt für Pferdechirurgie und Positionen als Chirurg in unterschiedlichen Pferdekliniken Deutschlands. Seit August 2022 bin ich an der Tierklinik Lüsche GmbH in Norddeutschland tätig.

Dr Philippa Ravens graduated with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science from the University of Sydney in 2004. She worked in small animal general practice for 5 years before accepting a residency position in Veterinary Dermatology at the University of Sydney in 2009. She became a member of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists in Canine and Feline Medicine and completed a Masters degree in Veterinary Clinical Studies through Murdoch University in 2011. She was awarded a fellowship in Veterinary Dermatology through the Australian College in 2016. She is currently employed at the Small Animal Specialist Hospital (SASH) at their North Ryde and Tuggerah clinics as a Dermatology Specialist.

Herr Nelissen studierte an der Universität Gent in Belgien. Nach dem Studium blieb er für ein weiteres Jahr an der Universität, um ein einjähriges chirurgisches Internship zu absolvieren. In 2003 zog er dann nach Großbritannien und arbeitete dort zunächst für dreieinhalb Jahre in einer Kleintierpraxis und erwarb in dieser Zeit sein „Certificate in Small Animal Surgery (certSAS)“ (Facharzt in Kleintierchirurgie). Um sich weiter in der Chirurgie fortzubilden, wechselte er dann zu „Dick White Referrals“ in der Nähe von Cambridge, wo er ein weiteres einjähriges Internship absolvierte, gefolgt von einer Residency in der Chirurgie. Nach bestandener ECVS-Prüfung blieb er bis Juli 2017 als Oberarzt für Weichteilchirurgie in dieser Klinik tätig. Seit Oktober 2017 arbeitete Herr Nelissen in der Tierklinik Haar als Leitender Oberarzt für Weichteilchirurgie. Ab Januar 2020 war er Chefarzt der Chirurgie in der Anicura Tierklinik Haar. Im Jahr 2022 eröffnete er zusammen mit seiner Frau Dr. Anna Adrian ein reines Überweisungszentrum für Hunde und Katzen im Münchner Osten, die “Frontier Kleintierspezialisten”. Obwohl er alle Bereiche der Chirurgie abdeckt, liegt sein Schwerpunkt auf der Weichteilchirurgie. Sein besonderes Interesse liegt in der Minimalinvasiven Chirurgie, Thoraxchirurgie, Hals-Nasen-Ohrenchirurgie und chirurgischen Onkologie.

Dr. Pilar Lafuente graduated in Veterinary Medicine by the University of Zaragoza (Spain) in 1998. Following a rotating internship at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, she completed a PhD regarding bone lengthening in dogs at that same institution. She then moved to the US and completed a rotating internship at the University of Florida and a residency in small animal surgery at Washington State University. She became a board certified surgeon by the ACVS and ECVS in 2009. In 2014 she obtained the certificate in Canine Rehabilitation Therapy and became a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation. Nowadays she works as a lecturer in small animal surgery and in Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Royal Veterinary College in London. She has scientific publications in national and international journals, and has been invited as a speaker in national and international conferences.

Poppy completed an ECVS residency in 2014 and moved to the University of Pennsylvania as a Lecturer in Surgery. She became an ECVS diploma holder in 2015, and moved back to the UK in 2016. She worked in a private referral hospital alongside helping to set up the RVC’s heart surgery programme. She undertook a further 2 year fellowship whilst there and then spent three years at DWR, Cambridge, UK setting up a new heart surgery programme. Poppy is now working on setting up an independent heart hospital, focusing on pioneering techniques with passion driven, individualised patient care.

Dr. Korman graduated from the University of Queensland and has worked in small animal and feline only practices in both Australia and the United Kingdom.
She was awarded a Feline Advisory Bureau (now International Cat Care) Senior Clinical Training Scholarship at the University of Bristol and published research in feline infectious and haematological disease. She is a Fellow of the Australian New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists and a registered specialist in Feline Medicine. She is a member of the Feline Expert Panel, a reviewer for the Journal of Feline Medicine and Surgery, contributing author to the British Small Animal Veterinary Association of Feline Practice, a member of the Australian Heartworm Advisory Panel and a tutor for the Centre for Veterinary Education Feline Medicine Distance Education Course.
Dr. Korman works at Veterinary Specialist Services in Brisbane where she heads the feline medicine service. Her passion stems from the bond between animals and their owners and the strength of every cat’s personality!
She shares her home with two children, Professor Moriarty (a Burmese with a mind for evil deeds), Maus (a partially sighted British shorthair) and Whinny, a rescue Chihuahua who is a glorified cat.

Rachel graduated from the RVC in 2003 and worked in first opinion practice for five years before undertaking a surgical residency at the University of Liverpool. Rachel obtained specialist status in 2012 and worked at both Davies Veterinary Specialists and Northwest Veterinary Specialists before joining the surgical team at DWR Veterinary Specialists in 2017 where she is now Head of Soft Tissue Surgery. Rachel enjoys all aspects of surgery but has a particular interest in surgical oncology, feline ureterolithiasis and tympanokeratoma. When not working Rachel can usually be found in the water training for her next marathon open water swim.

Ralf S. Mueller studierte Tiermedizin an der Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in München von 1980 bis 1985, promovierte 1987 und war in mehreren Groß- und Kleintierpraxen tätig, bevor er von 1990 bis 1992 an der Universität von Kalifornien in Davis seine Assistenzzeit in Veterinärdermatologie absolvierte. Danach wanderte er nach Australien aus, wo er zusammen mit seiner Frau Dr. Sonya Bettenay einer veterinärmedizinischen Überweisungsklinik als Gründer und Direktor vorstand. Von 1999 bis 2003 war Dr. Mueller Professor für Veterinärdermatologie an der Colorado State University in den Vereinigten Staaten. Während dieser Zeit war er auch Gastdozent an der Universität Zürich, wo er habilitierte. Seit März 2004 lehrt und forscht er an der Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität. Seine Forschungsgebiete sind Allergien und Ektoparasiten. Prof. Mueller hat mehr als 1200 Vorträge und Seminare auf der ganzen Welt gehalten und über 250 Studien, Fallberichte, Artikel, Bücher und Buchkapitel veröffentlicht.

Dr. Ralph Harvey teaches anesthesia and pain management in the Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences at the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in Knoxville, Tennessee. He previously served as the Section Head for the Small Animal Surgical Services and as a member of the University Faculty Senate. His veterinary degree is from the UTCVM and his post-graduate training included internship, residency, and fellowship at Cornell's Veterinary and Medical Colleges.
Dr. Harvey has worked in private small animal practice. He is certified as a specialist by the American College of Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia, has served as their Executive Secretary and as a member of the ACVAA Board of Directors. He is currently a member of the Fear-Free Advisory Panel and the Fear Free Executive Council.
He has received the UTCVM Brandy Memorial Award, the Outstanding Faculty Member Award from the Tennessee Veterinary Medical Association, and the UTCVM Outstanding Alumni Non-Practice Career Award.
His community service has included work with regional science fair programs, Explorer Scouting, the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society, and with wilderness and conservation groups.

Randi graduated from the Freie Universität Berlin, Germany in 2001. She pursued her doctoral thesis funded by a stipend through the Sonnenfeld-Stiftung Berlin in a cooperation between the Radiology Department of the Humboldt Universität Berlin and the Anatomy Department of the Veterinary School of the Freie Universität, Berlin.
Randi then spent time in private practice before pursuing her Diagnostic Imaging residency at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA. She became board certified with the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging and American College of Veterinary Radiology in 2008. Randi then pursued an alternative training program in Veterinary Radiation Oncology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA, and became board certified with the American College of Veterinary Radiology (Radiation Oncology) in 2012.
She held a clinical assistant professorship and was section head of the diagnostic imaging section at the School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA before relocating to the RVC where she serves as the head of the small animal diagnostic imaging section.
Randi has completed her Ph.D. in cardiovascular imaging with the University of Gent, Belgium in 2015.
She is a member at large of the board of the ECVDI and ECVDI chair of the radiation oncology education and credentials committee in Radiation Oncology, currently working towards establishing radiation oncology as a subspeciality within the ECVDI and ECVIM colleges.She has also served as the president of the CT/MRI Society for the ACVR from 2017-19.

Rebecca graduated from Cambridge University in 2007. She completed her PhD in 2014 at the Royal Veterinary College examining "Calcium-phosphate homeostasis in feline chronic kidney disease". Rebecca subsequently completed her internship and internal medicine residency at the Royal Veterinary College and now works there as a Senior Lecturer in Small Animal Internal Medicine. She gained her Diploma in Small Animal Internal Medicine in 2018, became a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in 2019, an RCVS Specialist in 2020, and gained her Diploma in Veterinary Nephrology and Urology in 2025. She spends half of her time in the clinic with canine and feline internal medicine cases. Her current research interests include CKD, CKD-mineral and bone disorder, hypercalcaemia and nephrolithiasis in cats.

She completed a residency in Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care at the Royal Veterinary College in London, United Kingdom, with a concurrent Masters of Veterinary Medicine, in 2019.
Rebekah became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care in 2019 and is a registered specialist in small animal emergency and critical care. She returned to Queensland Veterinary Specialists in 2019.
Rebekah has published articles on mechanical ventilation and anaemia and has presented at international conferences including IVECCS (International Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Symposium). Rebekah loves all aspects of critical care medicine including mechanical ventilation, transfusion medicine, septic shock and management of the critical post-operative patient.

Rebekah was born and raised in Melbourne, and apart from a one year stint as an amateur backpacker, has not strayed far. She graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2011, and spent three years working in general practice in the inner suburbs, and one year working as an emergency and critical care veterinarian in a veterinary referral hospital. Her passion for the microscope redirected her to pathology, and she completed a Veterinary Clinical Pathology Residency at the University of Melbourne. She currently works as a clinical pathologist at ASAP labs in Melbourne. She is the proud mother of a sassy little Jack Russell Terrier called ‘Momo’.

Medizinischen Klinik der Veterinärmedizinischen Universität in Wien und leitete diese bis 2002. Seit 2002 arbeitet sie selbstständig in der Dermatologischen Überweisungspraxis (www.vetderm.at). Zusätzlich steht sie der Firma LABOKLIN GmbH&Co.KG (Deutschland) seit 2004 konsiliarisch zum Thema Allergie zur Verfügung und hält für viele verschiedene Firmen Vorträge und berät diese bzgl. dermatologischer Angelegenheiten.
2000 - 2004 war sie als secretary im Organisationskomitee des WCVD4 (world congress of veterinary dermatology) in Wien, 2005 – 2013 war Frau Dr. Wagner Vorsitzende der Fachtierarztkommission der Österreichischen Tierärztekammer und 2013 – 2016 Mitglied der ICADA (International Committee on Allergic Diseases of Animals).
