From Acromegaly and hyperaldosteronism to feline Cushing’s: coping with less common endocrinopathies
From Acromegaly and hyperaldosteronism to feline Cushing’s: coping with less common endocrinopathies

Most of us have a reasonable understanding of how to deal with diabetes mellitus and canine hyperadrenocorticism. It can however be challenging to build up the confidence to deal with the less common endocrinopathies. How do a reliably diagnose feline hyperaldosteronism? Should I be testing for dwarfism? How do I deal differently with feline Cushing’s? This webinar touches upon the less common suspects and therefore aims to deepen the knowledge of attendees in the field of small animal endocrinology. When do you run an aldosterone in that cat with renal failure and hypertension? Should you be running an IGF-1 in every dog that is not growing as expected? What is really the best diagnostic test for hyperadrenocorticism in the cat? Is it different from what we do in the dog? How common is acromegaly and when do I screen for it? These and other issues will be discusses and interaction is encouraged.
