Melissa Shoard

RVN, AVN, VTS (ECC), Dip VN (ECC, GP, Sx), Cert IV TAE

Melissa works as an emergency and critical care (ECC) nurse in western Sydney. With over 10 years of experience in our industry, she has grown her passion for training and educating fellow nurses, techs and vets. She has achieved several qualifications over her time, including her VTS (ECC), a Diploma of Veterinary Nursing (ECC, GP, Sx), a Certificate IV in Training and Assessing, and is a proud RVN and AVN. Melissa has published several papers and lectured at national and international conferences. Recently, she was honoured with the 2024 Louise O'Dwyer VTS Aspiration Award for her passion for this industry, and she continues to volunteer for the VNCA at a state and national level. Melissa recently founded Veterinary Care Training Academy to teach, grow and further support the industry. Melissa is also the host of VetCare Talk time, which covers all things in the veterinary industry, covering the good, the bad, and the covered in poop
