Lily grew up in Hong Kong and Canada, obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Toronto in 2011. She later pursued a degree in Veterinary Medicine from Murdoch in 2016. Since her graduation, Lily's career involved a one-year rotating internship and went on to commence her Residency in Veterinary Radiology and became a Fellow in small Animal Radiology through the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Sciences. She has a keen interest in teaching and believes in keeping knowledge simple and readily available to those interested

Dr Linda Fleeman runs Animal Diabetes Australia, which is a clinical service that specifically caters for diabetic dogs and cats in Melbourne. Linda is an internationally renowned expert on the treatment of diabetes in dogs and is regularly invited to speak on this topic at international and national forums. Throughout her career, she has worked in both university referral practice and private practice, and her primary focus for more than 20 years has been on all aspects of diabetes in dogs and cats.
Linda graduated from the University of Queensland and completed a Small Animal Medicine Internship at Murdoch University and a Residency in Small Animal Medicine at the University of Melbourne. This was followed by a PhD at the University of Queensland on the clinical management of diabetes mellitus in dogs. She held positions as Lecturer in Small Animal Medicine at the University of Queensland and Senior Lecturer in Small Animal Medicine at the University of Sydney before founding Animal Diabetes Australia in 2010.

Linda graduated from the University of Sydney in Australia in 1984 and became a Specialist in Veterinary Dermatology after over 10 years working in general practice, following an initial desire to understand skin disease better and provide improved patient outcomes. She achieved Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists (ANZCVS) in Veterinary Dermatology in 2003 and has worked in both university clinical practice and private referral practice since then. Linda continues to teach dermatology skills to veterinary students, regularly participates in post-graduate dermatology education, and is passionate about promoting a greater understanding of dermatology. Linda’s special interests include atopic dermatitis, otitis, and maximising value of skin sampling techniques, including skin surface and ear cytology.

Lindsay Kellett-Gregory graduated from the Royal Veterinary College (RVC) in 2004. She spent 2 years in small animal private practice in the UK where she developed an interest in emergency and critical care. She subsequently completed a rotating internship at the RVC in 2007 before moving to the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, to complete a residency in emergency and critical care medicine in 2010. She obtained board certification in the same year and moved back to the RVC where she remained as a Lecturer in Emergency and Critical Care until 2018. She will take up the post of Specialist in Emergency and Critical care Medicine at Dick White Referrals, a large specialty referral hospital in the UK, in the autumn of 2018 where she will set up a critical care service to support the other specialty services. Lindsay is interested in all aspects of ECC, but has a particular interest in sepsis, respiratory emergencies and extracorporeal therapies.

Lindsey Connell has had many years experience treating both musculo-skeletal and neuromuscular conditions in people and commenced treating animals in 1999. She completed her post graduate Masters in Animal Studies (Animal Physiotherapy) at the University of Queensland in 2004.
She is the director of Animal Physiotherapy Solutions and consults from Veterinary Specialist Services in Brisbane Qld.
Lindsey has a special interest in treating sporting dogs , helping to maintain their strength and protect them from injury . She is also very active in canine sports as she owns two Border Collies and a young Kelpie.

Lisa graduated from the University of Pretoria, South Africa in 1997 and worked in the UK since. She soon developed an interest in dentistry and pursued this to specialist level. She is a diplomate of the European Veterinary Dental College. Lisa was the principal of a dedicated dental and oral surgery referral practice in Surrey before being diagnosed with motor neurone disease. She was involved with undergraduate and post graduate dentistry training and has published and presented papers both in the UK and internationally. Lisa was also actively involved with International Animal Rescue and is still a trustee of the charity. She has travelled abroad to perform dental treatment at various projects and has over the past years spent time training others to continue this work.

Dr Smart completed a Bachelor of Veterinary Science at the University of Queensland in 2003 before undertaking a rotating internship at Queensland Veterinary Specialists and Pet ER. She then completed a 3 year residency program in Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care at the University of California, Davis, Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital, and achieved board certification with the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care in 2008. In 2009, Dr Smart moved to Perth and commenced her position as Senior Lecturer in Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care at Murdoch where her role involves a combination of clinical service, undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, and research. She is also actively involved in distance education and speaking engagements. Her main research interests include fluid therapy strategies, coagulation and systemic inflammation.

She started a small private Veterinary Anaesthesia Consultancy in Perth nearly 10 years ago. Louise provides anaesthesia services primarily at a private referral hospital and conducts both anaesthesia case management and continuing eduction to general practice throughout the metropolitan area of Perth, Western Australia.

Louise O’Dwyer has worked at PetMedics, the UKs largest emergency clinic for the past 12 years and is currently Clinical Director. Louise holds both the Medical and Surgical Advanced Diploma in Veterinary Nursing as well as being a board certified veterinary technician specialist in Emergency and Critical Care. In 2012 Louise gained her MBA and is currently a part time PhD student at Manchester Metropolitan University looking at resistant bacteria in veterinary practice and their relevance in biofilms.
Louise contributes regularly to veterinary nursing articles, sitting on the editorial board of the Veterinary Nurse journal. Louise is the author of ‘Wound Management for the Veterinary Nurse and Technician’ and the forthcoming ‘Practical Techniques in Emergency and Critical Care Veterinary Nursing’.
Louise lectures regularly in the UK and internationally on a range of topics.

Having worked as a nurse in general practice and referral hospitals, Louise now works as a Senior Emergency and Critical Care nurse at the Royal Veterinary College, as well as working as a tutor for the Vets Now ECC Certificate in her spare time. Louise enjoys all aspects of critical care nursing and has published articles on a range of ECC nursing topics. Louise is a representative of her local BSAVA committee, helping to organise CPD events in her local area.

He has extensive experience within the profession, with prior involvement in industry, private practice, academia, writing, and lecturing. He has authored or co-authored several books (including Five-Minute Veterinary Practice Management Consult, The Genetic Connection, Behavior Problems of the Dog & Cat, and Atlas of Small Animal Dermatology), and has lectured extensively on a global basis, on topics in both medicine and management.

Luca graduated with honours in 1992 from the University of Bologna. After 3 years research in endocrinology at the BBSRC Institute in Cambridge, he was awarded his PhD in 1996. Following 3 years as Assistant Professor at Padua University, Luca moved to Bristol University, where he taught cardio-respiratory medicine of the dog and cat for 7 years. In 2005-2007, he was Associate Professor in Cardiology at the University of Minnesota. He returned to the UK in 2008 working in various referral institutions, as well as offering telemedicine service and post-graduate teaching. He obtained the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) certificate in cardiology in 2001, the certificate in Teaching & Learning in Higher Education in 2002, the ECVIM diploma (cardiology) in 2004 and a Certificate in Business & Professional Studies in 2011. In 2019, Luca was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons for his Meritorious Contributions to Clinical Practice. Luca has also vastly contributed to the veterinary literature with articles, abstracts, and book chapters, including the chapter on coughing in the two latest editions of Ettinger’s textbook of Internal Medicine. He also acted as chairman of the ECVIM examination committee and was member of the RCVS examination board and BSAVA congress committee. Luca is a regular speaker worldwide. His main professional interests include feline cardiology, exercise physiology, as well as investigation and management of syncope and coughing.
