Lucy qualified from Cambridge as a veterinary surgeon in 1997. After several years in practice, where she passed her RVCS Certificate in Small Animal Medicine, she joined the Royal Veterinary College where she completed a PhD in clinical and immunological aspects of canine diabetes mellitus in 2004. This was followed by a residency in Small Animal Medicine in Cambridge, where she passed her RCVS Diploma in Small Animal Medicine and DipECVIM-CA examinations in 2006, becoming a European Specialist in Small Animal Medicine (re-accredited 2011).

Graduated at the Faculty of Veterinary medicine of the University of Milan, obtained 2 years later the Board in Small Animal Practice in the same Faculty and attended the Course of Cardiology in dogs and cats at the University of Turin.
He was as Visiting Professor for six months at Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Georgia (Athens USA) and visited further several Veterinary Teaching Hospital abroad (Davis CA, Ft Collins CO, Philadelphia PA, Gifu Japan). He presented more than 100 topics in Italy, U.S.A., U.K., Spain, Slovenia, Greek, Poland, Croatia, Japan, Cuba, Czech republic, Bulgaria, Serbia, Russia about Parasitology and Cardiology and is author and co-author of more than 30 papers on “Internationally peer reviewed journals”, two books about Heartworm disease, three books about Small animal Parasitology and one about Cardiology of dogs, cat and horses. He works in cooperation in research projects with the Faculties of Veterinary Medicine of Milan, Parma, Zagreb and the Faculty of Biology of Salamanca.
He is member of the American Heartworm Society, Feline Heartworm International Council, SOIPA, ESSCAP and WAAP, and is vice President of the European Society of Dirofilariosis and Angiostrongylosis
Since 2006 he is a Diplomate of the EVPC (European Veterinary Parasitology College).
He works in the fields of Cardiology (both medicine and surgery) and Clinical Parasitology.

Lydia’s desire to be a vet stemmed from her upbringing on a thoroughbred horse stud and her exposure to James Herriot’s All Creatures Great and Small. Following graduation from the University of Melbourne in 2002, she worked in mixed practice in Kilmore, Victoria for the following 4 years. Lydia then gained further experience by working as a locum across a range of small animal and equine clinics in Victoria and South Australia. In 2008, she took the opportunity to work with two veterinary volunteer groups; the Esther Honey foundation in the Cook Islands and Vets Beyond Borders in India. Upon her return to Australia, Lydia completed a residency in small animal medicine at the Melbourne Veterinary Specialist Centre. In 2012, she gained her fellowship in small animal medicine through the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists and became a registered specialist in small animal medicine. Since then Lydia has been working at Advanced Vetcare in Melbourne. She is actively involved in continuing education through her work with the University of Melbourne (tutoring final year veterinary students at U-Vet Werribee) and the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists (where she is head of the small animal medicine examination committee). Lydia’s special interests include cardiology, neurology and endocrinology.

Lydia is a 2009 graduate of Purdue University’s bachelor’s degree program in veterinary technology, where she then began her career in critical care and surgery at Purdue’s Large Animal Hospital before moving to the diagnostic imaging department in 2015. In her current role, Lydia performs advanced imaging exams daily on a diverse range of small, exotic, and large animal patients, including radiography, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, nuclear scintigraphy, and fluorography. She has been a member of the AVTDI since 2020 and currently serves as chair of the credentials committee and a member-at-large on the executive board. Lydia is also an accomplished ultra-cyclist with Randonneurs USA, completing prestigious events such as London-Edinburgh-London and Paris-Brest-Paris. When she’s not on the bike she enjoys camping with her husband, reading a good book on the couch surrounded by her five cats, or taking the llamas (2) and dogs (2) down to the creek for a swim.

Mandy has held the position of Principal Scientist with RSPCA Queensland for 5 years. She has a keen interest in animal welfare, policy development, exhibited animals, shelter animal management, wildlife, pest management and many other areas within the RSPCA. She represents the RSPCA Qld on many government committees including in the area of biosecurity, exhibited animals, kangaroo management, injured koala care, Fraser Island dingoes, to name a few. Mandy is also involved in research in collaboration with The University of Queensland and regularly teaches courses to undergraduate and postgraduate students. Mandy serves on the board of ANZCCART and as the chair of the Centre for Animal Welfare and Ethics Advisory Committee, UQ. Mandy worked as a clinical veterinarian for over 20 years and her PhD research was into the parent verification of dogs through blood groups and protein polymorphism.

I have graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Bucharest (Romania) in 2003. After spending several years in private practice in Bucharest and obtaining my master degree, I have worked towards my PhD diploma in the same university. I continued as a lecturer in the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Bucharest until 2015 when I moved to the United Kingdom. Besides anaesthesia, I participated in the development of the ICU unit and in the teaching of the new graduates. I went on to complete a three-year residency in Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia at the Animal Health Trust, Newmarket and worked as a clinician in anaesthesia at the same hospital for another 2 years. In June 2020 I joined the team at Southfields Veterinary Referrals.
I enjoy all aspects of anaesthesia, but I have a particular interest for the critically ill patients, sepsis and opioid free anaesthesia.
Out of work I enjoy spending time with my family, reading and traveling.

M. Schnyder schloss das Studium der Veterinärmedizin 1999 an der Universität Zürich ab. Im Jahr 2000 promovierte sie an der Veterinärmedizinischen Fakultät in Bern. Von 2001-2003 arbeitete M. Schnyder als Assistentin in unterschiedlichen Tierarztpraxen (Nutz- und Kleintiere) in der Schweiz und in Frankreich. Daraufhin startete sie als Assistentin am Institut für Parasitologie in Zürich, erhielt das Board Zertifikat (dipl. EVPC) 2011 und den Facharzttitel 2012. Sie habilitierte im Jahr 2013, wurde ab 2014 wissenschaftliche Abteilungsleiterin und ist seit Ende 2017 Titularprofessorin.
Ihre wissenschaftlichen Interessen dehnen sich breit über die gesamte Veterinärparasitologie. Sie hat zahlreiche Publikationen über relevante Parasitosen sowohl von Heim- als auch von Nutztieren verfasst und hat an Kongressen im In- und Ausland vorgetragen. Besonderes Interesse gilt den klinischen, labor-diagnostischen, pathogenetischen und epidemiologischen Aspekte von Lungenwürmern bei Hunden und Katzen.
