Cardiac murmur: shall I bother or not?
Cardiac murmur: shall I bother or not?

Cardiac murmurs are frequently detected in horses and they can be physiological or pathological. After a brief reminder on cardiac function, we will focus on murmur characteristics that will enable the practitioner to differentiate these two types of murmurs upon auscultation and orientate the owner towards further investigations when needed.
