Triage and Emergency care of Exotic and Avian Patients
Triage and Emergency care of Exotic and Avian Patients

The presentation introduces the common exotics species such as rabbits, guinea pigs, rodents, ferrets, birds and reptiles that are seen at veterinary clinics.
The webinar will go through some of the common (species specific) reasons that exotics are presented as emergencies in addition to highlighting the clinical signs to be aware of.
Information is also provided on what to do when emergencies arrive and how to take care of patients that require hospitalisation.
By the end of the presentation, nurses should have acquired information that will ensure the best outcome for these popular and unique pets.

The Australian Veterinary Nurse and Technician (AVNAT) Regulatory Council has allocated (1) AVNAT CPD point to this continuing education activity.
